Showing Horses, Ponies and Donkeys
Horses v Showmanship.
The purpose of showing horses is to find the very best of each individual breed. An experienced judge is looking for the most positive combination of natural balance, structural correctness and movement. Showing classes are typically divided by the horse's breed, age and sex.
Showmanship focuses on the exhibitor's ability to produce and show a horse in the show ring. The horse must be impeccably turned out. The horse must catch the judge’s attention and stand out from the other competitors in its class and this takes true showmanship and flare from the handler / rider. We are honoured to have the very best in the country compete at our show each year.
