A New Event at the Showground
THE HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTRY FAIR –
“Where the Countryside comes to Life”.
There is a fabulously entertaining day out for the whole family, and the countryside enthusiasts, at the Hertfordshire Country Fair over the weekend of the 2nd & 3rd October 2010 at the Hertfordshire Showground. The two main show arenas have a full programme of displays varying from the Scurry Racing and Mounted Games where horse and rider complete against the clock to the more majestic Falconry and co-ordinated Gundog displays.
Away from the arenas there are many other display areas, the Falconry Village, around 80 varied Birds of Prey, eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures and owls will be on display, the Craft Village complete with a working demonstration area, The Food Glorious Food show, complete with Cookery Demonstrations, Beer and Cider Tastings.
For the younger members of the family there is all the usual attractions and amusements, roundabouts, castles etc but there is also our “Learn How To” areas. Learn how to fish with the Angling Trust, how to handle a gundog, or get up close to a hawk or owl and experience falconry at first hand. We generally find one or two big kids who are keen to have a go!
Around the show arenas you will find the shopping areas, approximately 200 exhibitors offering a vast array of country clothing, accessories and equipment, handcrafted items, food and drink.
If that sounds a little too exhausting, relax in the various food courts around the show.
Whether it’s to browse, buy, be entertained or take part, its all happening at the Hertfordshire Country Fair, Saturday & Sunday October 2nd & 3rd, , at the Hertfordshire Showground, Near Redbourn, Herts AL3 7PT. (This event was formerly held at Knebworth Park)
